Growing up in Hoboken, NJ Todd watched from across the Hudson River as the second plane hit the World Trade Towers. The United States of America experienced this tragic day in all different ways, but as a Nation time had stopped and there was no going back. The pain and devastation varied from house hold to house hold, some folks watched unable to fathom the horrific scene playing over and over on their television sets. Some stood across the river unable to take their eyes from the burning buildings without any way to reach their loved ones working, visiting or attending college in the city. Others experienced the unimaginable…being inside of a burning, collapsing building with no way out. Some people boarded an airplane that morning to find they will not make it home. No cellular service, fighter jets taking to the sky lines of NY….uncertainty filled the Nation.
A few brave souls with fear in their eyes, but courage in their hearts find the strength of an American…not to run, but to fight their way into the grey cloud covering Manhattan to help any way they can and to save as many lives as possible.
These heroes, the loved ones lost and the loved ones left behind to face the future show the strength found in a true American. We are a nation that wants to better its people and to strengthen its country. With pride and courage a community came together ten years ago to rebuild one of the United States greatest cities and it’s people. We continue to have brave men and women fighting for the country they believe in and for what this country was founded on…freedom, liberty and justice for all.
We support our fellow American citizens and the families affected by 9/11, we support our troops that vow to protect us and we support our great nation. In honor of you we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
(We asked some of our pin-ups and artists to share their patriotic work with us and here are some of our favorites to share with you.)
